Archaeology trips

Our archaeological trips explore some of the most famous and exciting sites of the ancient world.

In the shadow of Vesuvius, we pore over Pompeii and Herculaneum – two thriving Roman towns whose way of life has been preserved in extraordinary detail for nearly 2,000 years. In Greece, our itinerary leads us from the age of Agamemnon at Mycenae to the great flowering of art, politics and philosophy in classical Athens. And in Sicily we discover a magnificent and unexpected ensemble of monuments, which includes the world’s finest surviving Roman mosaics.

Each trip is carefully-paced, with a good balance of group visits, lectures and free time. Central to them all are our expert speakers and guides: chosen not just for their academic acumen, but their ability to engage with their audience, and share their intellectual excitement.
